The Thanksgiving Post

'Tis the season ...to be Thankful.

Well, my blog is named "Farm Kids". And this is how we do Thanksgiving.

We send the boys out to catch our dinner .......

Just Kidding. Grandpa Jim does that part long before we arrive. See, my Farm Kid ~ well he has higher priorties. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!

This year was exceptionally nice for many reasons. One reason being that Jim and Paula finished their farm house in February and they were gracious enough to host Thanksgiving in their new home. We invited my family to their property in Lyman-Hamilton ~ really makes it so much easier for us. Auntie Erin and Baby Romyn {8 months}above.

Lily Rose, so happy to be alive. What a big helper! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree {genetics are a freaky thing.} Lily was a great help with the decorating for Thanksgiving. She put the place cards at each of the place settings, strategically and artfully helped me put out gourds, sugar pumpkins and turkey decor. Lily was also a gracious host to all of our little girls ~ showing them were the craft center was & was part of a team of artists, producing lots of refridgerator art.

Rueben and Baby Romyn. I know you can't tell from this picture, but she has the sweetest little giggle. And even with Rueben being a little rough around the edges, the higher she could go; the more content she was.

A Shabby Chick. Okay. So, I mentioned above that Grandma and Grandpa bought Wii for the kids, right? So, I don't touch the thing ... don't get it .... not good at it, nada. Except, for the morning after everyone had left, Jim and Kristian were in the shower .... so I try it. I tried "Wii Fit". Anyone know what that is? It calculates various readings based on weight, height, reaction and coordination. It told me I had a calculated Wii age ....... of 47!!!! We WILL NOT be buying a Wii.

The Kids Table

Grandma Paula ~ Hi Grandma {I know you will be reading this}. She cooked and then she cooked .... and then she made some more. With every phone call I made to her the week before Thanksgiving, "Uh, Paula; my stepbrother is coming. Oh, and he has three kids." She replied: "Oh, no problem ... how much should I make?" Thanks for feeding me and all of my family! We loved every morsel.

Jim and Jim {Told ya genetics were freaky.}

Skip and Skip
{What the heck, Didn't these men have any creativity with their kids names?}
"This is my brother Gary and this is my other brother Gary.;)"

The adult table. Happy Thanksgiving ~ I can hardly wait until Christmas so we can do it all again. Love ya! And just so everyone knows. We did visit Jim's Mom and sisters before the holiday. We left right after Trick or treating on Halloween night. Jim ran the battery out on my camera, so we had an entire trip to Visit Grandma Linda and Great Grandma Phyllis, without a camera. Ah nuts!

  1. Nicely Done Tanya ... you did it! Very cute! On the pic of Jim & Jim, you should have thrown Kristian in that pic ... sorry, mama, I see alot of Jim in Kristian :0)
    I think the Wii is fun! Although since I have been to a gym for 20 months that game would probably say I'm dead or the age of a 90 year old!
